Gameplay
How does scoring work?
Scoring depends on the input mode. In Dial mode, a spot-on guess earns 5 points, close earns 3, warm earns 1, and a miss scores 0. In Number mode (1-20), spot-on is 5, off by 1 is 3, off by 2 is 2, off by 3 is 1, and anything further is 0. Consecutive scoring rounds build streak bonuses for extra points.
What are the different game modes?
There are three game modes. In One Psychic mode, one player gives clues while everyone else guesses. In One Guesser mode, one player guesses while everyone else sees the target and can chat about it. In Teams mode, players split into two teams and take turns with each team's psychic giving clues to their teammates.
Can I play Wavelength with just 2 people?
Yes. Wavelength works great with just two players. One person gives clues as the psychic and the other guesses. You can also try the local pass-and-play mode for two players on a single device.
How do teams work?
In Teams mode, players are split into two teams. Each round, one team's psychic gives a clue while their teammates guess. Teams alternate turns, and the team with the most points at the end wins. It adds a competitive layer that works especially well with larger groups.
What happens if the psychic runs out of time?
If a timer is enabled and the psychic runs out of time, the round moves forward automatically. Guessers will still get a chance to submit their guesses. You can configure timer durations (or disable them entirely) in the game settings.
How do streak bonuses work?
When guessers score points on consecutive rounds, they build a streak. The longer the streak, the higher the bonus multiplier on earned points. A miss resets the streak back to zero. Streaks reward consistency and add an extra layer of excitement to each round.
